As per reports, the Boston Celtics are interested in signing Ron Harper Jr. for the upcoming NBA season. Ron Harper Jr. is the son of five-time NBA champion Ron Harper. His father won two NBA titles with Los Lakers Angels in 2000 and 2001 and had won three back-to-back titles with the Chicago Bulls.  Meanwhile, Ron Harper Jr. is going to join the Boston Celtics training camp on a non-guaranteed deal.

The younger Ron Harper, who played collegiate basketball at Rutgers and was not chosen in the 2022 NBA draft, is the son of legendary Los Angeles Lakers player Ron Harper. After that, he signed a two-way contract with the Toronto Raptors, with whom he spent parts of two seasons as a G League player for the Raptors 905 team. In the G League, Harper has averaged 16.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game. He has been in struggled NBA.

Before getting waived off in December due to a shoulder injury Harper Jr. was a part of Toronto Raptors. In the last two years for the Toronto Raptors, he played in 10 NBA Games. During last season his average was 13.8 points and 4.0 rebounds while his shooting from the field in six games was 45.5%.

Ron Harper Jr. wants to bring his career back to the line

Nevertheless, Harper Jr. appears to be making progress towards his recovery, and he will now be a member of the reigning champion Celtics, who are having a somewhat unusual offseason. At the moment, Harper plays for Boston's Summer League squad in Las Vegas. Harper scored three points on one of two field goal attempts in just over ten minutes of play in the Boston Celtics' opening game in Vegas, missing his only three-point effort. In addition, he committed two fouls and blocked one shot.

Harper Jr. sees this contract as a chance to revive his career and become an NBA champion like his father did. Harper Jr. has the chance to make NBA history with his skill, commitment, and the club's backing. The squad also hopes to win a championship.
