The Golden State Warriors boast a rich history dating back to 1946. From their early days in Philadelphia to their current dominance in the Bay Area, the franchise has witnessed legendary talents grace the court. Picking the absolute "top 5" is inherently subjective.

With the help of Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, Golden State has won back-to-back NBA titles. It was easy to discover deserving candidates because the Warriors have six NBA titles, four previous Finals appearances, and ten players who have scored more than 10,000 points while wearing the uniform.

Here are  five players who undeniably left an indelible mark on the Warriors' legacy:

5. Paul Arizin: The "Original" Warrior

Often overshadowed by later Warriors legends, Paul Arizin was a dominant force in the early days of the franchise (1950-1962). He's the Warriors' all-time leading scorer (16,266 points) during his time in Philadelphia, a record that stood for decades before being surpassed by Wilt Chamberlain. Arizin was a two-time NBA champion (1956, 1967) with the Philadelphia 76ers, but his scoring prowess and impact on the early Warriors remain significant.

4. Draymond Green

Draymond Green might not be the flashiest scorer, but his impact on the Warriors' recent success is undeniable. His defensive versatility allows him to guard multiple positions, anchoring the Warriors' championship defences. Green is also a brilliant passer and facilitator, making him the engine that drives the Warriors' offence. His competitiveness and leadership are crucial intangibles that elevate his teammates' play.

While some might debate his offensive contributions compared to other players on this list, Green's three NBA championships (2015, 2017, 2018) and Defensive Player of the Year award (2017) solidify his place among the Warriors' greats. His ability to elevate the team's overall performance makes him an essential part of the Warriors' championship DNA.

3.  Rick Barry

Rick Barry's free-throw routine- the underhand shot might be his most recognizable trademark. However, his impact goes far beyond that. Barry was a prolific scorer, averaging over 30 points per game during his time with the Warriors (1967-1972 and 1978-1980). He led the Warriors to their first and only championship in the pre-championship series era in 1975, earning Finals MVP honours. Barry's scoring prowess, coupled with his defensive tenacity, makes him a true Warriors legend, even with his unorthodox free-throw style.

2. Wilt Chamberlain

Wilt Chamberlain's three seasons with the Warriors (1959-1962) were a masterclass in dominance. He holds the seemingly untouchable record for most points scored in a single game (100) during his time with the Philadelphia Warriors. Chamberlain averaged a mind-boggling 50.4 points per game in the 1961-62 season, a feat that will likely never be replicated. While his Warriors tenure didn't yield a championship, his statistical achievements and sheer force on the court remain unmatched in franchise history.

1. Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry isn't just a Golden State Warrior; he's the face of the modern NBA. Curry's impact transcends statistics. He revolutionized the game with his unparalleled shooting prowess, inspiring a generation of youngsters to embrace the three-pointer. His long-range accuracy is otherworldly, shattering numerous records and making defenders pay from anywhere on the court.

Beyond shooting, Curry is a gifted ball-handler and playmaker, orchestrating the Warriors' potent offence with dazzling skill. His two MVP awards (2015, 2016) and four NBA championships (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022) solidify his place as a champion and a true Warrior legend. While his career isn't over, Curry has already cemented his legacy as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, let alone the greatest Warrior.
