After a season full of below-par performances from Logan Sargeant, Williams is currently looking into the drivers’ market to get new faces. According to media reports, Williams Racing is keen to improve its performance on track with a new set of drivers from the Formula 1 2025 season.

The Grove-based team is understandably assessing its options in the market and analyzing the current form of its drivers too. With so many free agents for the 2025 season, the British outfit has reportedly zeroed in two drivers who might replace Sargeant.

Pierre Gasly and Valtteri Bottas are being considered as potential recruits for the British team. Both drivers boast significant Formula 1 experience, having achieved numerous podium finishes and race victories over their careers. Due to various factors, they are engaging in discussions with various teams across the grid including Williams.

Why does Logan Sargeant face scrutiny?

In the fiercely competitive midfield, Williams is understandably taking measures to remain competitive against their well-funded and ambitious rivals. With Alex Albon setting a high standard within the team, there's an opportunity for James Vowles’ team to enhance the team's driver lineup.

Earlier, this year at the Australian Grand Prix, Williams decided to withdraw Sargeant mid weekend. The American made the way for Alex Albon who looked more comfortable and determined on the track making the team’s intention clear. Sargeant will be racing in Miami this weekend and would be keen to outplay Albon to make a statement for himself.

The 26-year-old racer has been a constant part of Williams for the last two seasons. However, his performance has not been up to the mark. This put him under huge scrutiny last year but team principal James Vowles continued to stay behind him. However, things have changed this year and the team is now keen to get results. A quick and steady turnaround from Sargeant might work in his favour to save his seat.
