WATCH: Moto 3 Champion David Alonso Celebrates championship win by crashing

David Alonso won the Moto3 world title with 4 races to go and he is the first Colombian man to achieve this feat in any first-class category.

2024 Moto 3 champion the young rookie from Colombia David Alonso celebrated his championship win by riding a mini bike on the track and crashing it. David Alonso was riding for the CF Moto team and he was already the champion with 4 races to go. He is already called Baby Goat by fellow riders and his win was even celebrated by MotoGP legends like Marc Marquez who congratulated the Colombian while doing a rally with the Colombian flag.

Many other senior MotoGP riders like reigning champion Pecco Bagnaia, and Fabio Quartararo posted congratulating the young rider and appreciating his talent. In this Moto 3 season, Alonso had 6 poles, 11 podiums and 10 wins and he wrapped up with a championship title at the Japanese GP.

Crazy Winning celebration

He had a champion reception in the pit lane by his seniors and teammates. He also becomes the first Colombian to win any championship title in the first-class category. CF Moto also becomes the first Chinese manufacturer to win the Grand Prix. Many people claim he could be the next big thing for MotoGP in future.

Talking about being the Moto 3 champion Alonso said “It's a really strange feeling, I can't explain why I don't feel like crying now but I did last night. I think it's because of the shock and I haven't realized it yet. With three laps to go, I imagined the finish line, and when I had the chance I took it. Compared to 2023, which went by in a flash, 2024 went by really slowly.

David Alonso scored a total of 321 points this season with still 4 races to go in the calendar. His closest rival Holgado is sitting second with 212 points. In the team's standings CF Moto stands tall with 366 points, Liqymoly Husqvarna intact GP stands second with 290 points and MT Helmets MSI is third with 287 points.
