The Moto GP is one of the most iconic races in autosports and we all have enjoyed watching our favourite racers on the track this season. There have been some great races we have seen during this season and the Austrian GP is one of them. It is safe to say that this was one of the races that got the fans excited and we saw a great battle among the Ducati riders as well.

The winner of the race was Francisco Bagnaia who gave a great performance and has come closer to the number-one spot this season. The leader racer on the charts Jorge Martin eventually had to finish P2 and could only secure a podium so far, even though he gave the Italian a run for his money in some of the laps. However, there was some drama on the track which caught everyone's attention in this race and some of it was controversial.

The Marc Marquez disaster in Turn 1

The other Ducati racer we were looking forward to was Marc Marquez who is one of the legendary Moto GP riders we have known. Unfortunately, things did not start well for the Spaniard as even after being third on the grid he could not finish with a podium. Marquez had a disastrous start in the race where on Turn 1 he made contact with Franco Morbidelli which was enough to take him from P3 to P13 in no time. Though Marquez eventually did finish 4th despite this terrible start, it is safe to say that this was not the way the 6-time World Champion would want to start proceedings.

There is a lot of controversy surrounding this start from Marquez which got him far away from a podium finish, the fans on social media were also not happy with Morbidelli not getting a penalty after the incident as well. This was one of the moments that changed the game for the former champion and there is no way he would want to remember it at all.
