Lewis Hamilton may have had a challenging weekend at the Dutch Grand Prix, but his heartwarming gesture towards two of his fans has taken social media by storm. After a disappointing qualifying session, where the seven-time world champion struggled to secure a strong position, Hamilton connected with fans during a pit lane tour.

During the pit lane tour, two lucky fans were given the rare opportunity to get up close with Hamilton’s Mercedes, and the driver didn’t miss the chance to make their experience unforgettable. Hamilton graciously took pictures of his fans with his car. The video capturing this interaction quickly spread across social media platforms, with fans lauding Hamilton for his genuine kindness and humility.

Here is the video:

One fan expressed their admiration on Twitter, stating, "Lewis Hamilton always takes the time for his fans, even when things aren't going his way. This is why he’s a true champion on and off the track." The outpouring of love for Hamilton’s gesture reflects his deep connection with his fanbase, even in the face of adversity.

A horrible qualifying for Lewis Hamilton

The viral video came after a tough qualifying session for Lewis Hamilton at Zandvoort, where he was eliminated in the second round, securing only 12th place on the grid. Despite showing promise in Q1, where he set the fifth-fastest time, Hamilton struggled with oversteer during his final lap in Q2. Notably, after a three-grid penalty for impending Sergio Perez, Hamilton will start from the 15th position.

Reflecting on the session, Hamilton described the experience as a "domino effect" of issues, starting with an incident involving Sergio Perez. "The balance just got more and more snappy, more and more oversteer-y," Hamilton explained, calling the session "terrible."

Hamilton’s frustration was palpable as he acknowledged the challenges of overtaking at Zandvoort and the possibility of facing further penalties. "It’s very frustrating, naturally, but this is what it is," he said, indicating that his focus has already shifted to the next race weekend.
