WATCH: Franco Colapinto becomes the new hero for Argentina fans at COTA after Lionel Messi

The United States Grand Prix held at the COTA circuit had many Argentinian fans and they all stood behind one driver and that is Williams driver Franco Colapinto. Formula 1 is happening in the americas which has the US, Mexico, and Brazil all three very close to Argentina the home country of Franco Colapinto. The Argentinian driver was welcomed and had a huge reception from the Argentine fans who all lined up for seeing their home country's hero racing at the pinnacle of Motorsport.

The young Williams driver was very impressive in his first-ever USA Grand Prix as he was completely in his own league. He overtook 2-time world champion Fernando Alonso and clinched the tenth spot which is the final spot with points.

Franco received a warm welcome from his home fans throughout the weekend in the paddock, Practice, qualifying and race. The Williams team made a brave decision to keep Franco Colapinto out until the 41 laps and then he changed his tyres.

While coming out he was P12 and then he chased others for the top 10 spot. Both rookies Liam Lawson and Franco Colapinto were very impressive throughout the weekend as they both finished P9 and P10. The rookies have started to make statements just like in the early 2000s in Formula 1.

Red Bull's Sergio Perez and Franco Colapinto are the only two Formula 1 drivers from the americas rest of them are from Europe and Asia. So the American fans especially the Argentine fans came in big numbers to the COTA circuit to support their hero.

The Argentinian Legendary Football player Lionel Messi is very famous in the USA as he is playing for the Inter Miami football club. He recently became Inter Miami’s leading goal scorer. They also entered the FIFA Club Football World Cup. 

Franco Colapinto is also looking like the next big thing in Formula 1 as he is very impressive in racing. We hope he will find a driver's seat and race for any F1 team. Franco will be replaced by Carlos Sainz at Williams Racing for the 2025 F1 season.
