The Spanish Grand Prix 2024 has been phenomenal for Mercedes as they finished 3rd and 4th on consecutive weekends. However, it was a troublesome race for the Ferrari F1. The Grand Old team finished out of the podium for the second consecutive weekend. Both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz failed to outplay other teams during the race and qualification.

However, an unwanted incident replicated that everything is not well within the franchise. Leclerc who was racing ahead at 5th position was following the team’s decision to save tyres. But things changed when Carlos Sainz tried to get past his teammate which forced Leclerc to go out of track. The incident left Leclerc fuming as he called on his teammate angrily.

Here is the video:

“It’s a shame as the team had told us before the race to save the tyres at this moment in this race and I was doing exactly that in the last corner, which is a really good corner to save,” said a disgruntled Leclerc. Later after the race both Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were seen having a chat while walking back into the paddock. Both can be seen fuming at each other which was captured on cameras raising questions over team unity.

“It’s a bit of a shame but anyway we will speak internally, it’s not a big deal, I understand it’s his home race and a very important moment of his career and he wanted to do something spectacular, and I probably wasn’t the right person to do that with.”
