In a thrilling qualifying session at the Spanish Grand Prix, Lando Norris stunned the field by clinching pole position in the dying moments of Q3! Despite Max Verstappen setting a blistering lap, Norris pulled out an incredible effort to edge Verstappen by a mere 0.020 seconds.
Lewis Hamilton also showed strong improvement, securing P3 on the grid, with George Russell following closely in P4. Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz, Pierre Gasly, Sergio Perez, Esteban Ocon, and Oscar Piastri completed the top 10.
Norris, exuberant after his pole lap, exclaimed, "Let’s f****** go, baby!" The stage is now set for an electrifying race as Norris aims to convert his sensational qualifying performance into a successful race day at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Lewis Hamilton dominates Q1!
Lewis Hamilton in his Mercedes went fastest, topping Q1 with an impressive lap. The session was particularly disappointing for VCARB and Williams, with both teams seeing all their cars eliminated early. Lance Stroll narrowly escaped, securing P15.

The bottom five drivers who missed out on Q2 were Haas’ Kevin Magnussen, VCARB’s Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo, William’s Alexander Albon, and Logan Sargeant. Tsunoda was especially dismayed, exclaiming, “We didn’t go through? No.” The top three in Q1 were Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, and Max Verstappen, setting the stage for an intense battle in the following sessions.
Mercedes avoids strategic blunder in Q2!
In Q2 Max Verstappen showcased his dominance by topping the session, asserting his position as a formidable contender. Lewis Hamilton narrowly avoided a strategic misstep by switching to new soft tyres late in the session, propelling him to second place just before the checkered flag.
George Russell also impressed, securing the third spot on the grid with a strong performance for his team. However, notable drivers missed out on Q3: Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin finished 11th, followed by Valtteri Bottas in 12th for Sauber, Nico Hulkenberg of Haas in 13th, Lance Stroll in 14th for Aston Martin, and Zhou Guanyu of Sauber in 15th.
