After two weeks of gap, the Formula 1 caravan is set to make a return in Europe. This race will open the doors for the European leg of the ongoing season with Austria and Silverstone to follow suit.

Notably, over time there have been five different circuits to conduct the Spanish Grand Prix. Starting from 1951 to 1954 Pedralbes held two races. After that, Jarama, Jerez and Montjuic Park held races on different occasions. However, since 1991 Barcelona’s Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has been the destination.

Most wins and fastest lap at the Spanish Grand Prix
As a driver, the most wins at the Spanish Grand Prix are registered by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher. They both have won six races at this track and have dominated it full-heartedly. Meanwhile, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has recorded the fastest lap on this track i.e. 1:18.149 in 2021. On the other hand, Ferrari have won 12 races in Spain which is the most by any.
First-time winners at the Spanish Grand Prix:
A total of four drivers and two constructors have won their maiden Grand Prix in Spain. Max Verstappen is also one of those who won their first-ever Grand Prix in Spain. It’s worth noting that Jackie Stewart is the only driver to win the first-ever Grand Prix for two different constructors on two different tracks in Spain in 1970 and 1971.
