Pramac has gotten a good offer from Yamaha for the 2025 season and beyond. However, as they are in a collaboration satellite deal with Ducati, Pramac is in no hurry to take a decision on it. They have time till the end of July to confirm their next partner in the MotoGP. Paolo Campinoti gave a statement this week regarding their upcoming move.
Reportedly, Pramac has a lot of benefits if they switch from Ducati to Yamaha. However, in the contract clause Pramac they signed with Ducati, there was a provision to extend the contract for the next couple of years. It could provide Pramac an opportunity to retain the factory-spec bikes for 2025 and 2026. Yamaha seems to have come up with a huge monetary deal.
That gives Pramac a good option to choose for the future, though picking only one of them would be extremely tricky. The decision of Pramac is likely to have an impact on the two existing satellite partners of Yamaha. Gresini and VR46 are worried as Yamaha seems to be interested in Pramac over them. While VR6's contract will end this year, Gresini's contract with Yamaha is till the end of 2025.
Headache over rider options for Pramac
Pramac has Jorge Martin and Franco Morbidelli as their two riders. Reports claim that Martin might leave for the practice sessions soon either in the factory of Ducati or elsewhere. The entry of Fermin Aldeguer to Pramac will depend on the satellite team they opt for. If they stay with Ducati, Fermin will join VR46. There is also a similar case with Marc Marquez.
For the 2025 season, he has not been able to find a factory bike. Francesco Bagnaia and Pramac seem to be the two available options for Marc. If Pramac opts for the deal with Yamaha, then the chances of Marquez getting a bike will get slimmer. If Pramac opts for the deal with Yamaha, all three of Marquez, Enea Bastianini, and Martin would be hoping to get the same factory bike.
