British Formula 1 racer Max Verstappen continues to write history as he clinched another race of the season. After clinching the sprint race on Saturday, Verstappen outplayed everyone in Shanghai to register his first Grand Prix victory in China.
Verstappen clocked around 14 seconds faster on track than second-placed Lando Norris. Norris clinched the second position from Sergio Pérez in third. This is Verstappen’s victory at the 26th different venue placing him among few to do it in the history of the game.
Meanwhile, Norris had a great day at the track as he displayed his best performance in the last few months. His amazing speed and one pit-stop strategy helped him to keep himself ahead of Perez and others. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz finished fourth and fifth respectively.
Mercedes' George Russell and Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso finished sixth and seventh respectively. The 43-year-old Formula 1 veteran recorded the fastest lap time in the race giving him two extra points in the driver's standings.
Lewis Hamilton fights hard to make it to the top 10!
With a poor qualification race on Saturday, seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton started off the race from 18th position. However, after initial struggles, Hamilton displayed some amazing skills to make it into the top 10 as he finished ninth.
Notably, Hamilton was heard complaining about the car and tyres on multiple occasions. Apart from him, Oscar Piastri finished eighth while Hass driver Nico Hulkenberg clinched the tenth position to get some points.
Local boy Zhou Guanyu also performed exceptionally in front of a houseful home crowd. He has been phenomenal with his takes and competed amazingly for the Sauber. Starting from 16th position he finished 14th to make a point. After the race he was allowed to stop in pit lane with eyes full of tears of the gratitude and support he received in the last three days.
