It seems like the rumours that Max Verstappen heading to Mercedes are not going to be in ‘cold storage’ very soon. Sky’s David Croft came up with a claim that these rumours concerning the veteran Dutchman’s association with Mercedes resurfaced when the Monaco Grand Prix F1 weekend was underway.
Notably, the discussions and rumours around ‘Max Verstappen joining Mercedes’ have been the talk of the town amidst a lot of controversial stuff and turmoil around the Red Bull this year.
Meanwhile, Mercedes’ Toto Wolff has been seen expressing his sentiments publicly by being vocal about his interest towards roping in Verstappen with Mercedes.

Here's what Croft said about rumours concerning Max Verstappen
Amidst all this, Croft suggested the presence of Max Verstappen’s father Jos Verstappen in the Monaco Grand Prix F1 weekend ignited the rumours a bit more.
“Let’s go back to Monaco where the Verstappen to Mercedes rumours started being talked about again. Now, I am not sure what’s changed since the opening race of the season and Monaco so that it all went a bit quiet in between and then someone might have come to the race in Monaco that we hadn’t seen at the track for a while that might be quite close to Max Verstappen. Mentioning no names on that one but the rumours started again on that one,” said Croft on Sky F1 podcast.
“You get the impression, and I had a couple of wonderful text messages over the Monaco weekend from people who’d heard Jos talking and saying ‘Max going to Mercedes, you know, that’s not dead in the water yet,” he added later.
Furthermore, Croft also spoke about the either kind of possibility of these rumours getting grounded.
“It’s quite clear that there’s still a bit of a ground that needs to be resolved in that particular conversation. Logically, Max stays exactly where he is. But when has logic ever formed part of a discussion on this one? Especially in F1,” he said.
