The Formula 1 governing body has successfully organised the F1 75 launch event in London’s O2 arena with all the 10 F1 teams and 20 drivers. Many celebrities and Former world champions were also present at the event. The arena was completely sold out and was a spectacle for the fans to watch their favourite teams and players unveiling the cars.
FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem spoke to the media after successfully organising the event in London. There he addressed one of the biggest demands of the F1 fans which is bringing back the ever-lasting and roaring V10 engines back to Formula 1. These engines went extinct after the 2004 season and since then, F1 evolved to V8 and now we are in the V6 turbo hybrid era.

After this season new regulations will kick in and we will see F1 cars with Electric and ICE power perfectly balanced along with Flexible fuels. The Pinnacle of motorsport is evolving according to global trends, but fans are missing the V10 engines, especially their iconic sound which became the official sound of Formula 1 cars.

Hybrid engines have lesser sounds, since their inception in the 2014 season. But the V10 and V8 engines gave F1 cars more power and drivability, as at times there were refuelling options in F1 like NASCAR. After some mishaps made by the teams, Formula 1 banned refuelling and made the car more sustainable and fuel-efficient by bringing hybrids.

FIA President considering V10s with flexible fuels

Now, the FIA president has heard the fan's plea to bring back the old V8 and V10’s with flexible fuels and he wrote on his Instagram page regarding the consideration. MBS wrote “This week’s F1 launch in London has triggered a lot of positive discussion on the future of the sport. While we look forward to the introduction of the 2026 regulations on chassis and power units, we must also lead the way on future technological motorsport trends. We should consider a range of directions including the roaring sound of the V10 running on sustainable fuel.
Whichever direction is chosen, we must support the team and manufacturers in ensuring cost control on R&D expenditure. Delivering for our members and fans will always be at the heart of all we do alongside important work to make the sport safer and more sustainable for decades to come, ensuring future generations can enjoy F1.” We also request the F1 and FIA, bring those iconic V10 and V12 engines to Formula 1. One suggestion would be F1 can consider hosting at least one race with complete V10 and V12 engines calling it “F1 Classic race’ in either Silverstone or Imola.
