Formula 1 2025 Saudi Arabian GP Qualifying session

Q1 – After the lights went out, the 20 great drivers lit up the track with back-to-back lap times. As expected, the two McLarens went on top of the rest of the grid. The gap between Piastri and Norris was too minimal. The two Ferraris' pace was down, and surprisingly, the two Red Bull drivers impressed with their pace. Lewis Hamilton faced all the dangers of getting eliminated, but on his final run, he came ninth.

Drivers eliminated: Lance Stroll, Esteban Ocon, Jack Doohan, Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto.

Q2 – Max Verstappen and Lando Norris impressed the most in this session, as just 0.048s is the difference between the two. The biggest shock was Fernando Alonso and Alex Albon getting eliminated. Isack Hadjar also failed to move to Q3 along with his VCARB teammate, Liam Lawson.

Drivers eliminated: Fernando Alonso, Oliver Bearman, Isack Hadjar, Alex Albon and Liam Lawson.

Q3 – The opening was a big shock as Lando Norris crashed out of the session. The British driver carried too much speed into the corner, and the kerbs played their role and sent him out of the qualifying. Then it was Oscar Piastri's job to stop Max Verstappen, who is sitting on the pole.

But George Russell came out of nowhere and finished at the top. With just a few minutes left, the Dutchman once again went for a final try and in the end emerged as the fastest man in Jeddah. With this, he will start in pole position and have the biggest advantage in tomorrow's race. If Max Verstappen wins tomorrow, he will regain the top position in the Formula 1 2025 drivers' championship.
