Lewis Hamilton is struggling every race at Ferrari, and either his race pace or the team strategy is helping him. The seven-time world champion is not enjoying his time at ferrari, and his recent interviews suggest he has lost hope and that the team will improve this year.
After a 12-year successful journey and six world titles with the Mercedes F1 team, the british racer moved to another iconic brand, Ferrari. The Maranello-based team was the second fastest team last year, and all Hamilton hoped for was to become the world champion for Ferrari.
Everything is upside down as he could only fight in the midfield with Mercedes, Williams and Red Bull. His former team, Mercedes, seemed to have improved a lot from where Hamilton left, and many experts are saying that leaving Mercedes is a bad choice.
They also predict Hamilton would never win another world title as he lost his Midas touch. During the 2025 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, Mercedes boss Toto wolff was asked questions regarding Hamilton’s form at Ferrari. The Austrian boss gave his answers, which are quite amusing.

'Magic is still there'- Toto Wolff
He said, “I think we saw that magic in the sprint race (Shanghai). He was completely dominating that race. It’s not like you have the magic in one race and then suddenly you lose the magic in the next one. I very much believe that it's still there. If he aligns all his performance contributors and feels he is in the right space and the car is to his liking, he will be stellar. I have no doubt. But I’m also not surprised it has those road bumps.”
Wolff feels Hamilton was at Mercedes for 12 years, and his current teammate Charles Leclerc was there at ferrari for a very long time. Any new driver will go through the same phase, and Lewis is also facing the same issue.
After Lewis’s departure from the team, George Russell is the new lead driver for the Mercedes F1 team. The 18-year-old Kimi Antonelli has taken over the space of Hamilton. The Italian is doing an outstanding job and impressing every race. The silver arrows are slowly finding their ground and very soon they could be the fastest team on the grid alongside McLaren.
