Alex Palou emerged victorious in the Sansio Grand Prix at Indianapolis. Before the race, Colton Herta was in the pole position in terms of the Championship points. He had finished in the 8th spot in the previous edition. This time around, Palou claimed an impressive win. Thereby, the emerging raider claimed his first proper win of the season, which would give him a lot of confidence.

In the first few minutes, a lot of drivers went off the track. But none of them were handed a yellow flag. In this phase, Palou slowly started to pick up. In the middle phase, he made huge strides into the top spots. In between the breaks for the black and red banded tyres, Palou claimed the lead. The Spaniard gained a lead of two seconds and did not look back.

Only during the car safety period, he slowed down. But Palou managed to claim the lead again soon after returning to the track. It seemed like one such day where Alex looked at his best and was destined to win. He held on to the lead for the rest of the race and managed to finish the race as the winner.

Will Power and Christian Lundgaard finish second and third

It is the perfect way for Palou to start May ahead of an important season like Indy500. After the conclusion of 4 races this season, he is in the first position in the standings. Will Power and Christian Lundgaard were impressive too. They covered a lot of distance and came close to challenging Palou. However, their effort was not successful and ended with the 2nd and 3rd positions.

The duo was close to Alex. Scott Dixon and Marcus Armstrong finished the race with fourth and fifth positions respectively. In the top 10, the likes of Scott McLaughlin, Colton Herta, Alexander Rossi, Graham Rahal, and Felix Rosenqvist finished with 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th positions respectively. The next few weeks of the season will be interesting given the challenge ahead of all the brands.
