Tennis star Naomi Osaka has praised star player Andy Murray for his great comeback after his injury at the Italian Open 2024 in Rome. Notably, Murray has recently revealed that 2024 will be his last year. However, Osaka has recently won the first round against Clara Burel at the Italian Open 2024 on May 8.

Following the win, she was asked about tennis champion Andy Murray's impending comeback to the ATP tour after his injury. Murray last played at the Miami Open and suffered a grave ligament tear in his ankle during his third round, which made him lose in round number 32. Andy Murray has suffered from groyne, thigh, hip, and ankle injuries and may have more injuries altogether.

Meanwhile, Naomi Osaka accepted that Andy Murray was a very tough competitor, and his passion for the game helped him make a comeback in the tennis world. The 26-year-old has called Murray a relentless player owing to his ability to play the matches at a high level. The Japanese-born star further talked about the legacy created by Andy Murray in the tennis fraternity.

I think as a kid watching him on TV playing these amazing battles: Naomi Osaka

"Yeah, it's funny, I actually asked Wim where Murray was because I haven't seen him for a couple of tournaments. I didn't know that he was out. I mean, for me, Murray's such a great guy, such a tough competitor. I think it's really amazing the fact that he loves tennis so much and he keeps coming back. He's had all these injuries. He's unrelentless in a way - or relentless, sorry. Just his ability to keep playing matches at a high level," Naomi Osaka said.

She continued, "For me, when I think about him when I think about the legacy that he leaves on tennis, obviously, he's done a lot for can I say UK tennis or should I say  British tennis? I think as a kid watching him on TV playing these amazing battles, he's affected every tennis kid worldwide."
