We all know that the Holy Trinity of Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic were the ones leading the game of tennis from the early 2000s up to now. There was barely a player that ever got the better of these dominating players who have been winning all the major tournaments in the game. The only player who had given them some challenge was Andy Murray, who is regarded as one of the best tennis players in the UK.

Murray might have not had as much of a decorated career as the big three, but he still managed to have a formidable playing career winning 3 grand slams and also being world number 1 in the ATP rankings. Murray is one of the few players who have had some great matches with all the three legends of the game and have also got wins against them as well. However, Andy Murray has not been able to dominate the game throughout and eventually ended up second best to the three.

Nadal sheds light on Murray's career

Currently, Andy Murray has not been on top of the rankings and is currently out of the top 50 rankings. Murray has opened up on retiring this year and this might be the last few games we see from the 36-year-old tennis phenomena. There was an interview with 22-time grand slam winner Rafael Nadal who has played 24 games with Murray. El Nino has opened up about how he has grown up with Murray and praised him a lot as well and said he was almost at the same level as him, Djoko and Federer.

Nadal said that Murray came at a difficult time in the game and at the end gave his final statement saying " He was, in my feeling, the one that he was at the same level as us in general terms. In terms of victories, he indeed achieved less. In terms of the level of tennis, in terms of holding mentally the winning spirit week after week, he was the only one that was very close to being at the same level as us.” This was El Nino appreciating a player and his accomplishments in the game.
