The 53rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was a fun game between the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the men in yellow were successful enough to break the curse and take revenge at the same time. They defeated the PBKS team in their own backyard by 50 runs. It wasn't the host's day, as CSK outplayed them in the bowling and fielding departments.
Even though CSK's batting wasn't very impressive, their bowling was extremely beautiful. All the bowlers did their best, and the bowling changes made by skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad helped the team a lot. After this huge win, CSK jumped up the points table to the third position with 12 points. So the door to the playoffs is still open for the Super Kings, and from hereon, they can't afford to lose any games.

1. Must win all three remaining matches
CSK has three more games, one at home and two away from home. In order to qualify for the playoffs, the men in yellow have to win all three matches while maintaining a solid net run rate. The last three matches are against GT, RR, and RCB. While GT and RCB are almost out of the playoff race, RR is leading the points table. Since the conditions are tough, CSK has to win these matches to stay in the tournament.
2. Hope for LSG and SRH's loss
LSG and SRH have played 10 matches, won six, and have four more games left. For CSK to qualify, either of these teams has to lose their remaining matches to open up a slot. Moreover, if CSK loses any match by chance, they will want these teams not to win any more matches.
3. DC and RCB shouldn't win their last three matches
While RCB is almost out of the race, DC still has a chance, which is dangerous for CSK. Both teams have home games left, which might go in their favor. Hence, if DC wins all of its matches, and CSK loses even one, then it will be difficult for CSK to qualify. Therefore, both teams have to lose their remaining matches.
