The England cricket team is all set to defend their T20 World Cup title as the event is set to commence on June 1 in the West Indies and USA. Notably, Jos Buttler and Co. defeated the Babar Azam-led Pakistan side in the final game at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Stadium in Australia in 2022. However, their best performance of the tournament came against India in the semi-finals, where they registered a 10-wicket win over the Men in Blue.

The side now sets their eyes on the T20 World Cup 2024 title after a poor edition of the ODI World Cup 2023, where they failed to qualify for the semifinals and somehow managed to be eligible for the Champions Trophy 2025, which will take place in Pakistan next year.

The English side will again look to perform well in the T20 World Cup 2024 as the squad has marked the presence of star bowler Jofra Archer, who has recently missed the last three World Cups and the last two Ashes.

In the same vein, check out the top reasons why Jofra Archer is an important asset to the English camp:

1. A valuable player for the side

The 29-year-old cricketer is a bowler with pace and is capable of the scalps, and his four overs in the game can be a big boost for the side to defend their title. Notably, the star bowler can dismantle the greatest batters as the T20 World Cup 2024 is the tournament where murderous batting is expected to dominate.

2. He can be England's Jasprit Bumrah

Jofra Archer is up there with the best. Notably, the right-arm pacer can be England's Jasprit Bumrah, as he has great physical and mental strength, which can keep control under high pressure, especially in the powerplay and in the death overs.

On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah was also out of action in the years 2022 and 2023; however, his magnificent comeback in the Asia Cup 2023 played a big role in guiding India to win the title. In addition, the right-arm seamer also played a vital role in the ODI World Cup 2023, which helped the hosts reach the finals.

3. Both England and Jofra Archer deserve some payback

It's indeed extremely hard to think about another player who has enjoyed such support from England as Jofra Archer. Notably, the Barbados-born cricketer had missed three World Cups and two Ashes since 2019, but despite that, he got the central contracts through the four years, which also included his high-level management care. However, it's time for Jofra Archer to justify the investment made to him by the ECB.
